Students,

We are looking forward to welcoming you on campus at orientation at the Southeast Institute of Biblical Studies! Please read the entire message for requirements before school begins. All students, including part-time daytime student and student wives, must complete all forms. 

Orientation will be Saturday, August 1 from 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM. We will provide breakfast beginning at 8:00 AM in the Karns large multi-purpose room.  Gentlemen should wear slacks and a button-down shirt. Ladies should wear slacks or skirts, no jeans or flip-flops. 

Orientation is required for all incoming students: full-time daytime students, part-time daytime and student wives who are in the women’s program on Monday and Wednesday evenings. If you have children, there will be childcare provided but you must notify us of number of children, ages, as well as any special circumstances that need accommodation.  

There are forms that are required by the Tennessee Higher Education Commission that must be completed before school begins. You must click on the link and read the 2026-2027 Southeast Catalog in order to complete the following forms. Please read the catalog before coming to orientation. There are some dates and events which are important to note. You are required to attend these events.  A complete list for the school year is attached also. (School Activities Calendar link at the bottom of the page)

·       August 1 - 8:00 am - Orientation for new students including wives – breakfast provided – topics to include keys, Karns adopt a student program, elder’s message to students, correspondence with supporters, new student forms, what is expected of SEIBS students and wives.

·       August 1 – 6:00 pm Welcome party for all student families hosted by the Elders. Dinner provided. Large multi-purpose room.

·       August 2 – 10:00 am - Karns worship – New students and families will be introduced to the congregation.

·       August 3 – Quarter 1 – Classes begin

·       August 9 – Student Reception after evening service at Karns - Large multi-purpose room for fellowship time with Karns congregation – dessert and drinks provided by Southeast

·       August 13 - 10:00 AM – Student and staff pictures –dark suit, dress shoes, appropriate shirt, and tie.

·       August 13 - 3:30 PM - Individual student and family pictures for new students for Karns directory.

If you will be living in student housing, please make sure you have communicated your planned move-in date with Rick Harrison rharrison@makingpreachers.com.
